Elixr® is the interactive platform for healthcare professionals to Communicate Clinical Excellence in wound care. It’s a professional collaboration software service of wound management features and functionality.
Q. What is iCLR technology® and how does it work?
iCLR technology® is what makes Elixr® unique. It is a highly intelligent and advanced statistical pattern recognition algorithm that can accurately classify each pixel in an image to determined parameters and provide accurate outcomes.
The algorithm has been assessed by leading wound care professionals to recognise various tissue types and accurately classify each individual pixel in a wound image to further help monitor the wound healing process.
The clini-metrics of the iCLR technology® is continually assessed as further images are added to the programme.
Q. Is Elixr® customisable?
Elixr® is a SaaS (software as a service) solution, meaning that all updates and technical support is included in the subscription fee. Elixr® users can engage with us to define, build and integrate their own tools into the wound management software. This will ensure a bespoke and complete solution for their hospital or community wound care service whilst providing an interactive, accurate & personalised approach to patient care.
Q. What cameras do you need to use Elixr’s measurement and tissue tools?
The value of Elixr is that you can continue using your current photographic equipment. For optimum iCLR technology® recognition, we advise that all camera’s should be 5+ mega pixels and that each wound image has a measurement ruler or cm square present to calibrate the image.
Q. Is the Elixr® measurement tool accurate?
Yes. There is a 1% error margin on measurements taken from flat images and 5% error margin on measurements taken from curved surfaces.
Q. How do I access Elixr?
A defining feature of the Elixr® platform is that it can be accessed through any device that has access to the internet.
Q. What browsers is Elixr® compatible with?
Windows 7+, Safari, Opera, Google Chrome and Firefox 2+
Q. Does Elixr® have the power to interoperate with other Hospital Information Systems (HIS)?
Yes. Elixr® intends to support integration between its system and the major vendors. These services are carried out on a daily rate basis and are negotiated separately for each assignment.
Q. Can it be used across different care settings?
Elixr® is built with ‘total communication’ in mind. Elixr’s architecture allows it to be utilised across different care settings so that the full clinical picture of a patient’s wound history can be shared throughout the patients' entire journey of care.
Q. Can Elixr® be accessed from any other devices?
Yes. If the device is connected to the Internet then you will be able to access and use Elixr.
Q. How long does it take to set up Elixr?
Being online, new customers can be commissioned for service in just minutes and rapidly accelerate their time to benefit.
Q. Where is the data on Elixr® stored?
Data is stored on a secure NHS third party server provider fully compliant to the standards set by the Department of Health. Relevant documentation and references can be obtained for internal governance approval.
Q. Is training, support, maintenance and upgrades covered in the licensing price?
Yes. You will be provided with a dedicated account manager throughout your licensing period that will tend to all training, support and maintenance issues. Additional costs will apply for high volume training visits and if the customer selects to have the application installed on their own server.
Q. Is there opportunity to get system upgrades as the technologies advance?
Elixr® is an evolving solution with new features and tools being added to the roadmap constantly. As wound management best practice and techniques evolve so will our platform.
Q. How easy is the system to use?
We have worked hard to ensure Elixr® is easy to adopt and great to use. With emphasis in user interface design and a 'social' look and feel, Elixr® is unlike any other wound management solutions.
“Wound surface area measurements are a valid indicator of wound progress. Elixr involves a non contact technique which is important for skin conditions where infection and pain can pose a problem.
Its use is quick and precise and photos taken from doctors, nurses and patients can be uploaded and used for wound area measurements.
Provides permanent record of wound size and appearance. Also, no special device needed apart from ruler and camera.”
Gabriela Petrof, Research Fellow, Kings College London
"I was tasked with completing a clinical case study that demanded accurate measurements of wound area and wound bed content.
Elixr provided the perfect analysis tool to make my study exact and unbiased. The graphical interface also provided my readers with a great visual of how the wound bed had progressed."
